Why We Built the 3D Globe
Traditional analytics dashboards show you numbers: 1,234 visitors from the United States, 567 from Germany, 234 from Japan. These numbers are useful, but they fail to capture the living, breathing nature of your global audience.
We wanted to create something different. Something that makes you feel connected to your users. Something that turns abstract data into a visceral, visual experience.

How It Works
The 3D Globe is powered by Mapbox GL JS and custom WebGL shaders. Here is what happens when a visitor lands on your site:
- The tracking script sends an anonymous ping to our servers
- We geolocate the visitor based on their IP address (city-level, not exact location)
- A dot appears on the globe at that location
- Connection arcs animate between the visitor and your server location
- The globe automatically rotates to show activity hotspots
All of this happens in real-time. When a visitor lands on your site, you see it within milliseconds.

A live feed shows recent visitors with details. Click on any entry to focus the globe on that location.

We know that beautiful visualizations can be resource-intensive. The 3D Globe is built with performance in mind:

- Lazy loading: The globe only loads when visible in your viewport
- Automatic quality adjustment: Reduces complexity on lower-powered devices
- Graceful fallback: If WebGL is not available, you still get a functional 2D map
Privacy First
The globe shows approximate locations only—never precise addresses. We geolocate to the city level, and visitor dots are placed with intentional randomization to protect individual privacy.
No personal information is ever displayed. You see visitor activity, not visitor identity.
