SQL Playground — Query Your Analytics with SQL
Write SQL queries against your analytics data or describe what you need in plain English. SQL Playground gives technical teams direct access to every metric in Zenovay.

Sometimes dashboards are not enough. You have a specific question — a custom retention window, a particular traffic segment, a revenue breakdown that does not fit neatly into a pre-built chart. Until now, the only option was to export your data and run the analysis elsewhere.
Today we are introducing SQL Playground, a built-in query editor that lets you write SQL against your Zenovay analytics data directly from your dashboard. If you prefer plain English, you can describe what you need and let the system write the query for you.
Write SQL, Get Answers
SQL Playground lives inside the new Explore tab on your dashboard. Open it, write a query, and get results in seconds. The editor gives you access to your pageviews, sessions, events, goals, and revenue data — the same data that powers every chart and metric you see in Zenovay.
Every query runs in a secure, read-only environment. You can read your data but never modify it. Results are returned instantly, making the Playground ideal for ad-hoc analysis that goes beyond what the standard dashboard offers.
A built-in schema browser shows you exactly which tables and columns are available, so you never have to guess what data you can query. Query history is saved automatically, and you can bookmark queries you plan to reuse.
Natural Language Mode
Not everyone writes SQL — and that is fine. SQL Playground includes a natural language mode that lets you describe what you want in plain English. Type something like “show me my top landing pages this month” or “what percentage of visitors use mobile devices” and the system generates and executes the right query for you.
The natural language engine has access to every data category in your dashboard: traffic sources, referrers, pages, countries, regions, devices, browsers, operating systems, UTM parameters, keywords, behavior metrics, and revenue. If you can see it in Zenovay, you can ask about it.
Built for Technical Teams
SQL Playground is designed for developers, data analysts, and technical founders who want to go deeper than pre-built charts allow. Common use cases include custom retention calculations, cohort comparisons, multi-step funnel analysis with custom conditions, and revenue breakdowns by traffic source.
Because queries run directly against your analytics data, results are always fresh and consistent with what the rest of the dashboard shows. There is no export delay, no stale CSV files, and no need to set up a separate data warehouse.
Also New — Webhooks and Automation Rules
Alongside SQL Playground, this release brings webhooks and automation rules to Zenovay. Webhooks let you receive real-time notifications at any endpoint when specific events occur. Automation rules let you define conditions and trigger actions automatically — no manual monitoring required.
Set up a webhook in your domain settings, test it with one click, and review delivery logs to confirm everything is working. Automation rules are configured with a visual rule builder, making it easy to create alerts for traffic spikes, conversion drops, or error rate changes.
Smarter AI Analysis
The AI Analysis panel — the contextual chat that opens when you click the sparkles icon on any chart — has received a significant upgrade. It now has access to a much richer set of data, including device types, keywords, UTM parameters, behavior metrics, and revenue.
You can ask follow-up questions in a conversational thread, copy insights with one click, and resize the panel to fit your workflow. The panel now displays reasoning transparently, so you can see how it arrived at its conclusions.
Getting Started
SQL Playground is available now for all Scale plan users. Open your dashboard, navigate to the Explore tab, and start writing queries. Natural language mode works out of the box — just type your question and press enter.
Webhooks and automation rules are available on Pro plans and above. Configure them from the Settings tab in your domain dashboard. As always, we welcome your feedback — reach out through the support page if you have questions or suggestions.
